Welcome on aboard SV/ JUCA

Our philosophy is to live in peace and harmony with each other and to have lots of fun doing it! We practice compassion and unconditional love and experience that there are no mistakes only stepping stones while we grow on our journey.

We have sold our house in August 2009 and moved from Mangawhai / New Zealand to Norfolk/Virginia to board our Sailing Vessel Juca in January 2010.

Juca is the name of our beautiful 60 foot Morgan, and the name is a creation of the first initials of our amazing inspiriations, Julia and Carlos.

I hope you all will enjoy reading our blog and following our travels around the Caribbean.

Always something new ...

We have been here in Trellis Bay now for more than 2 months and there is always something new to discover. Kim was so kind yesterday to leave us the key to her car and we took this opportunity to go and visit Rhianna and Marc. Rhianna had to go to a photography course, but Marc invited us to go along with him to the Tradewind Club for a drink. We had to go over the hill and were really wondering where he was leading us. Right in the middle of nowhere we parked the car and walked into this little resort/ Club. Wow.....a really nice place awaited us and we all had a ball that night. The children enjoyd playing board games, the pool and a swim in the twilight and we enjoyed meeting new people. We are so grateful for all these experiences and always enjoy being welcomed with open arms.

Shopping in Road Town

After a beautiful yoga session in the morning on the beach, Trish gave me a ride into Road Town to do some shopping. Our fridges and cupboards are empty and Carlos has discovered eating, at the moment you can see him constantly eating or asking for food. Mind you he is coming up to his eights birthday and has grown like a mushroom in the last year. His feet remind me of a giant or some of my German friends might remember "Plumpaquatsch" who was a frog in our afternoon childrens program with huge feet.

Being Patience

Like this Flamingo we are observing the day and waiting for, what there is to come next. We had a pretty relaxing day. School with the children, feeding the rabbits at Arragon and swimming around the boat. Sometimes it feels nice to do nothing and just letting the day pass by.

New experience

Last Wednesday we all went to Road Town to try out the Power Yoga session with Shyvonne. It was different, but we all had a good time and the best off things was the coffee afterwards. I love all my new friends from Trellis Bay, we are having lots of fun together and they are always open to experience new things. I wish I could take them all back with me to New Zealand....but they promise me to come for a visit, that is comforting and makes it easy to leave them behind......

Beautiful Long Bay

It's Sunday that means we are off our homeschool work and our ususal routine. After breakfast we are packing our staff and going with the Dinghy over to Long Bay. Long Bay has become our favourite spot. It s only a bay away from Trellis Bay, but you think you have entered a different world. The water is so clear and it appears like you are in a big swimming pool.

Carlos love to take his Boogie Board as there is a bit of a surf there. Sven is in his element of snorkeling, a world of little young corals are lining the shores of Long Bay. Julia and myself just love lounging around the warm sand and the soft water.......ahhhhh 100% enjoyment pure...... After a few hours the hunger takes over and we are going back to the boat. I decide to take a nap after the meal and never appear back from the bed for the rest of the day.....boy I must have needed that sleep. When I wake up after 15 hours of sleep in the morning.....I am still tired.....

Back on the boat

I am back in Trellis Bay.....I am back on the Boat....reality check.....it takes a while for me to adjust to being here, everything seems to go slower and I do miss the convinience of having a hot shower at night, however I do enjoy the company of my family again. Carlos and Julia shower me with kisses and hugs all day since I am back and Sven is treating me like a princess.....

I was gone for a week and a few things have not been taken care off, so I have been busy cleaning and washing the clothes. Sven has done a good job homeschooling Julia and Carlos, they seem to have made a big jump in that last week in their reading and mathmatics. Well done guys and I am very proud of all three. We have discovered a new bay just around the corner, its called Long Bay. Beautiful long white beach, great snorkeling in crystal clear water. We have been there twice since my return and my daily yoga on the beach is a good substitute to the red mountains and its magical energy of Sedona....I am slowly adjusting to my life on the water again.

Our family is reunited

It took a long time to come home. When I left Sedona at 4 o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, it had just started to snow. I haven't seen snow for years and it felt very strange to see the white fluff falling out to of the sky. The shuttle bus that picked me up was running a bit late and it took us nearly three hours to get to the Phoenix Airport. I checked in and then had another 4 hours to mooch around before I could settle into my seat on the plane. I had a stopover in Atlanta and St. Thomas before I reached my Destination Road Town after a journey of 28 hours.....Uff.....I was happy to be home again reunited with my little family. Everyone was happy to see me and the hugs haven't stopped since arriving on the boat last night. They tell me a lot of time that they missed me and love me lots.....sometimes it is good to be missed to be appreciated again. I am very tired and after having dinner and a bit of catch up time we are having an early night.

Weather in Sedona

Wow the weather is really representing itself today....first we were pushed off the mountain by strong winds and then it started to rain, which turned into snow later on. We spend the day in the Sedona Creative Center were we were guests to "The Gathering 2011" which was the annual conference for Lightworkers. Wow....this was very special and we all embraced this day to the fullest and were grateful to experience to be amongst such wonderful, likeminded people and speakers. What a wonderful treat and nice way to create memories between Kate, Mita and myself. I am off to the airport right now....so will blog more when I am back home.

This is just the beginning

Yeah I have finished my course and I am now a trained "Karuna Reiki Master"....I am very happy. I have finally found what I have been looking for and even more. This last day on the course was easy and the day was already finished before it began....I honestly don't know where the time went, it just flew by. I am very tired now and I have to get up early tomorrow morning as three of us planning to go up into the mountains to do Yoga....uiiuuu that should be fun and then I will be picked up from my motel and it will be time to fly back to Tortola, Trellis Bay. I miss my family very much and it will be nice to be reunited again with them. I had taken the computer with me to bea ble to skype with them, but the computer broke and so I have had hardly any contact apart from a couple of emails. I hope they still know what I look like :) Will write again, when I am back on the boat.

Full Moon in Sedona

We had a very full and exciting day at the Peace Place. I have become quiet friendly with Mita and Kate. We wanted to spend some more time together to get to know each other a bit better and also to create some memories. Kate had told us about the Full Moon Fire Ceremoney that was suppose to be held tonight and so Mita and I joined her in this excursion. Kate picked us up shortly after we had finished our day at the Peace Place and we drove out of Sedona into the mountains where we got greeted from a lady with the name Walker. She was the keeper of this special place and had organised a shamanic Full Moon Fire Ceremony. She had invited several other people to join this special event. Today was a special night; the last time the moon was so close to earth was in the early 90's if I remember right. She started the evening with a beautiful meditation and thereafter we went outside. We walked for a bit until we came to the mediation Labyrinth. Once we all completed the walking meditation, she invitged us to the Fire Circle. Everyone picked an instrument and started to sit around the fire. We sang, drummed and released things we no longer wanted or were of service to us......it was a very cold night....but beautiful and special. We came home around about midnight and you know what the best part was....all I needed to do is hop under the shower turn on the hot tap and let the hot running water let warm up my body....what a delicious act to do after such an eventful day......

I am enjoying myself

This morning I woke up early and went down to the pool area which has got a very nice view over the mountains and Oak Creek. I breathed through my yoga practice with ease and was ready to face the day at the Peace Place in Uptown Sedona. I have totally fallen in love with the climate and the environment here in Sedona, which probably does not come to a surprise to anyone who has been here before. On top of its mesmerizing environment it is also very clean and very very friendly. On my way to the Peace Center this morning, I noticed that every person I met greeted me friendly with a a smile and a good morning. Wow! My first day on the course was great and I will talk about that more in details when I am back on the boat, because unfortunately the charger of my computer has given up on me and so I have to use the computer in the office of Cedar Lodge, where I am staying. The Cedar Lodge is a very friendly and clean place and I can highly recommend this place to anybody who will ever looks for a reasonable place to stay in Sedona. When I came back from my course today I had a hot bath and sushi take away while sitting in the hot water......ohuhu what a luxury. I have learned a few new things today which I have to let sink in and therefore I will have an early night. I will post some pictures on this blog when I am back home.....good night and sweet dreams to everyone who has read this blog today.

Sedona - what a magical place

Once I had finished my hot chocolate at Starbucks Coffee I moved outside the airport to catch a ride to Sedona. Sedona is approx a 2 hours drive from Phoenix. I am lucky and get a ride into downtown and end up at the Greyhound bus station to find out they are not going to Sedona. Bummer! The lady gives me a number to call the Phoenix Sedona Shuttle and they will pick me up at 9.30, which means I have to hang around the station for another three of hours. I don’t really feel comfortable here, however I will read my book and it won’t be too long before I can go on the bus to Sedona. Observing the people around me I am amazed how busy everybody is talking or playing on their phone, people travelling with plastic bags and covered in Tattoos ……someone is smoking pot….. the smell in the building is just awful and makes me want to go home again. After three hours hanging around the Greyhound bus station I finally get picked up and my journey continues to Sedona. The trip to Sedona is beautiful and it reminds me of the old western with John Wayne and the book that I am reading with the children....The little house in the Prarie by Ingal Wilders. While driving through the Arizona state I imagine little Laura and Pa driving along with their horse wagon!
At lunch time I get dropped of at the Western side of Sedona and it is still a long walk to where I need to go, luckily I one of my fellow passengers got picked up by his wife and they give me a lift into downtown Sedona. I check the Best Western for a room and pretty quickly end up settling for a room at the Cedar Inn. I have got a little view of the mountain and a swimming pool available, a perfect spot for my yoga in the morning. Once I have a hot shower and clean myself up I go for a walk into town and checking out the place where I have to be tomorrow. I very much like Sedona, it is clean and it has got something magical with its colour. After running around for three hours my feet are sore and full of blisters, I guess I am not used to walking in shoes anymore. I am in bed by six and ready to stretch myself before closing my eyes and gently floating into dreamland.......I am very excited to be here and very much looking forward to explore the energy here in Sedona.
