Welcome on aboard SV/ JUCA

Our philosophy is to live in peace and harmony with each other and to have lots of fun doing it! We practice compassion and unconditional love and experience that there are no mistakes only stepping stones while we grow on our journey.

We have sold our house in August 2009 and moved from Mangawhai / New Zealand to Norfolk/Virginia to board our Sailing Vessel Juca in January 2010.

Juca is the name of our beautiful 60 foot Morgan, and the name is a creation of the first initials of our amazing inspiriations, Julia and Carlos.

I hope you all will enjoy reading our blog and following our travels around the Caribbean.

End of School Holidays

Holidays are over and we had a lot of fun during the last two weeks. I have to admit that we did not do any school work at all, but I had a feeling that we all needed a break from our routine and doing school. I certainly enjoyed the break; however we still got exposed to a lot of new things. I taught Julia and Carlos how to sew, and Julia liked it very much and has already made a new dress for her Barbie. Carlos was so enthusiastic about it, that he started mending his bedspread. Yesterday we found a rock crab on the beach, he was very beautiful and we studied him for a quiet a while, before we released him again into the wild. As I have already mentioned we went to the see the movie “RIO , which is a story about a blue nearly extinct parrot. We wrote a story about this parrot, researched parrots and learned how to draw parrots. We did a lot of colouring in and drawing during the holiday break and I found a couple of very good interesting and challenging Puzzles, that we have been busy putting together, we all love to put our heads together and puzzle for hours. Tonight we are going to bed early and trying to get into our school bedtime routine again. That is the only thing that I hate about the holiday breaks, it is always hard to get back into our usual routine.
