Welcome on aboard SV/ JUCA

Our philosophy is to live in peace and harmony with each other and to have lots of fun doing it! We practice compassion and unconditional love and experience that there are no mistakes only stepping stones while we grow on our journey.

We have sold our house in August 2009 and moved from Mangawhai / New Zealand to Norfolk/Virginia to board our Sailing Vessel Juca in January 2010.

Juca is the name of our beautiful 60 foot Morgan, and the name is a creation of the first initials of our amazing inspiriations, Julia and Carlos.

I hope you all will enjoy reading our blog and following our travels around the Caribbean.

Promotion to Captain

Yeah....I have been promoted from first mate to Captain Gabi....well at least for a week, or as long as Sven is gone to the Turcs and Caicos for the Yacht delivery. I have got all my little notes lying around what to do and what not to do, which button to turn and which one not. Yesterday we had our first night without Sven on JUCA and at first it felt a bit strange to be in charge of running the generator and watching out that everything runs smooth. However it was a very quiet evening, we had a cosy evening and cuddled up in front of the TV to watch Megamind. Once the movie was finished we all cuddled up in bed and read a book until we feel asleep. For this week I have made the decision to cut our next few weeks short for a day, which got the children very excited, however I extended our school days a bit so we are still getting the same amount of work done :)Everyone is happy!!! After school I made Julia and Carlos swim around the yacht three times and thereafter we went for a little walk on the beach....agenda?....hmmm..getting them tired for another early night....I will see if that plan works out.

Last week we went to Nanny Cay with Kim and Rayne to do some sailing, the children had lots of fun and enjoyed each other company. I had the chance to meet up with Lise and John and I also ran into Aymee and Jeff who we had met on our first Full Moon Party in Trellis Bay.
