We had a pleasant ride to Nanny Cay and settle into the marina in time for the inspection. The actual inspection or survey has been very unpleasant and felt strange. I don't really know why exactly I did not like it, but for once it was annoying that I had spent so much time cleaning and tidying the boat up and the surveyer ripped everything apart and in the end the boat looked like a bomb had exploded inside the boat. He went through every cupboard and every whole he could find. I know there is nothing wrong with that and he just did his job, however if we have to go through that again I would remove myself from the boat for that whole day. The second part was probably that a stranger went through our personal staff, evaluated our boat; our space; our life and tried to fault it, because that is his job....uiii that did not went down very well. In the morning I went to the restaurant with Julia and Carlos to do our school and then came back to give Sven some company and mental support. Shortly after lunch the surveyer went up the mast, half way up the mast he stopped and investigated the first part of the mast. Suddenly he shouted down..... " I think the mast is broken"...my heart nearly went down my pants. Not only would have that meant the potential buyer is not buying the boat it also ment a major expense for us.....then I heard the words ....." oh no it has been repaired"...this time Sven shouted out....that he had no knowledge of a repaired mast.....so the surveyer investigated a bit more and then said....."oh yeah its only paint coming off the mast".....well what a difference from mast is broken or the paint is coming off .....Sven and I got more and more the feeling that he was out there to talk the potential buyer out of the boat....and we stood their helpless and had to watch and observe the potential buyer.....terrible day and so much emotional tension throughout the day. By the end of the day we were totally exhausted and I was close to crying just to relief the tension I had stored throughout the day.
We finished the day by having dinner with Kim and Brian sharing a few drinks....they ended up staying with us on the boat and Carlos was happy that Rayne had another sleepover. What a day and on Monday the survey will continue with a haul out and a test drive!!Welcome on aboard SV/ JUCA
