Welcome on aboard SV/ JUCA

Our philosophy is to live in peace and harmony with each other and to have lots of fun doing it! We practice compassion and unconditional love and experience that there are no mistakes only stepping stones while we grow on our journey.

We have sold our house in August 2009 and moved from Mangawhai / New Zealand to Norfolk/Virginia to board our Sailing Vessel Juca in January 2010.

Juca is the name of our beautiful 60 foot Morgan, and the name is a creation of the first initials of our amazing inspiriations, Julia and Carlos.

I hope you all will enjoy reading our blog and following our travels around the Caribbean.

Trivial Pursuit Night in Puerto Blanco

Tonight we joined the Trivial Pursuit Night in Puerto Blanco. We had lots of fun and Sven and I make sure that we stay in different teams on those nights, just to scatter the German brains! Sven really loves playing the game and I have as usual volunteered to organize the questions for next week. I cannot help myself. Sven’s team took second place and my team third place, so we are doing not too bad for Germans. These are the rules! Everyone brings a snack along! There are 50 questions and 10 questions for each category. Once we have answered half of the question we do have a little break and enjoy our snacks before it goes into the second round. Last night was a very enjoyable night and Laura the lady of SV “Free Spirit” has done another wonderful job to leads us through the night. After the game, some guys took their guitars out of their cases and played wonderful music to finish off a great night.

Carlos was really taken by the lady with the flute. He asked me if he was allowed to learn that instrument and when I asked him why, he said that the flute makes such a beautiful sound!
