Welcome on aboard SV/ JUCA

Our philosophy is to live in peace and harmony with each other and to have lots of fun doing it! We practice compassion and unconditional love and experience that there are no mistakes only stepping stones while we grow on our journey.

We have sold our house in August 2009 and moved from Mangawhai / New Zealand to Norfolk/Virginia to board our Sailing Vessel Juca in January 2010.

Juca is the name of our beautiful 60 foot Morgan, and the name is a creation of the first initials of our amazing inspiriations, Julia and Carlos.

I hope you all will enjoy reading our blog and following our travels around the Caribbean.

A trip across the Island

Julia's question first thing in the morning is always, " So...what are we doing today?" Today is Sunday so we have a day off school, that is always a nice plan and start for the day. It is overcast and we are kind of ready to leave Rodney Bay, but I really want to see the other other side of St. Lucia before heading down south, so our plan today was to catch the bus to Castries and then take another public bus to Dennery, which is on the Atlantic side of St. Lucia. It is suppose to be the rougher side of the Island. We packed our bags and made our way to the bus stop. It did not take too long and a bus stopped and we were on our way to the next adventure. On thing I really have to mention again, travelling with the public transport is real easy, comfortable and cheap here in St. Lucia. The bus trip to Castries was nothing new to us, but once we left Castries the scenery changed and it got interesting and greener. The trip to Dennery took us over the mountain and we could feel the change in temperature. We were driving high up through the rainforest. The trip took an hour and very interesting, but once we arrived in Dennery we took one look at the tiny little village and decided to go straight back to Castries. There was nothing really to see or do there and being Sunday we were afraid that we might not get a bus back home. The bus driver looked a bit irritated and asked where we had planned to go, but we said that everything was fine and we are happy to go back. The trip back was easy and seemed quiet short. In Castries we had a very delicious lunch before heading back to Rodney Bay. Once we were back on the boat Sven took a nap and the children went for a swim. They ended up swimming over to Ryan and Jen on SV " Sandy Dreams". Having Ryan and Jen and their friends as neighbours is a blessing in the sky.....Thank you sooooooo soooooooo much, I feel like I am having a holiday myself! Yesterday they took Julia and Carlos for a Dinghy fishing drift in the late afternoon and today they took them to Pigeon Island to explore the Park and the Hermit Crabs once more. By the end of our stay, Julia and Carlos will know every little rock on Pigeon Island. I took this opportunity to update our blog and download some pictures. What a luxury and delightful and peaceful break....Jen and Ryan you rock!!!!
