Welcome on aboard SV/ JUCA

Our philosophy is to live in peace and harmony with each other and to have lots of fun doing it! We practice compassion and unconditional love and experience that there are no mistakes only stepping stones while we grow on our journey.

We have sold our house in August 2009 and moved from Mangawhai / New Zealand to Norfolk/Virginia to board our Sailing Vessel Juca in January 2010.

Juca is the name of our beautiful 60 foot Morgan, and the name is a creation of the first initials of our amazing inspiriations, Julia and Carlos.

I hope you all will enjoy reading our blog and following our travels around the Caribbean.

We are sailing to Antigua

We are on our way to Antigua....hahaha, tricked ya.... as soon as we stuck our nose out of the bay we realised that the wind had changed direction and that we needed to change our plans.....and so we decided to sail to Montserat instead. We talked to Calabra on the VHF and discussed our new route and that we would meet in Little Bay, Montserat. We calculated that this trip would take us 4 hour, if nothing comes in between. We arrived in Montserat after 3 1/2 hours. It was an easy and enjoyable trip and our first impression of Montserat is beautiful. Our friends from the Catamaran Calabra had already arrived before us, as they had left 1 1/2 hours before us. Johnno and Monet had already organised and booked a taxi for us for tomorrow to explore the Island. That should be fun, but before we explore the island we will celebrate our safe arrival in Montserat and Monets birthday. Happy Birthday Monet..we are wishing you all the best for this coming year, may all your dreams come true! While Sven checked us in, the kids and I baked a lemon cake with lemon icing...yum! In the afternoon we went over to Calabra to have a BBQ and drinks, Vicky and Mike from the Catamaran "Double Exposure" joined us for the celebration and once again we finshed another day in paradise with fun in the evening sun.
